Rocking Chair

1960s Parker Knoll Rocking Chair
This story started when my very generous boyfriend brought me an upholstery course for my birthday complete with a little tool box! After the initial excitment I quickly tracked down this gorgeous rocking chair in West Yorkshire and spent an intensive week replacing the tired old floral fabric with bright yellow woven upholstery – complete with zip and piping and perfect for bringing a bit of sunshine into your life! Sold**

  1. I love this rocking chair it is exactly the type and colour I am looking for! Weird question do you know if it is a ‘type’ of rocking chair, I mean does it have a name. Great job with the upholstery it’s a fab colour x

    • Hi
It’s a Parker Knoll Rocking Chair.
I’m not sure of the exact model but they pop up on eBay quite regularly so its worth keeping an eye out! My upholstery skills are quite limited so I did it as part of an intensive week long course, and with guidance it wasn’t too difficult. I’m not sure if I would’ve been able to do it on my own! But theres alot of books around about modern upholstery techniques which would probably provide a good starting point. Hope that helps. Thanks, Rujina.

  2. Love this rocking chair! It’s exactly what I’m looking for, was it difficult to upholster? Great job! x
